The Prime Minister affordable housing scheme comes under the scanner after found the major irregularities in the tenders worth Rs. 3,612 crore which were given for the construction of houses near Mumbai under the PM Awas Yojana.
The Maharashtra government stayed the execution of the tenders for affordable housing scheme under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
The Area Development Authority and Maharashtra Housing Body (MHADA), has targeted to construct 10,000 affordable houses in Mumbai and Konkan to the EWS people in the year 2016-17.
The government has also provide Rs. 258 crore for the acquisition of land across the state for the construction of affordable houses under the PM Awas Yojana.
The Maharashtra Housing Body MHADA, board has inviting the contractors to construct these houses at a collective of Rs. 3,611.96 crore . The housing project of affordable housing scheme were planned on lands in 1 site (Raigad), 1 site (Thane),5 sites (Kalyan), 1 site (Karjat), 2 sites (Vasai) and 1 site (Khalapur).
The Maharashtra Area Development Authority and Housing issued the tenders on 24 October for the construction of 33,510 affordable houses for EWS people and 6,250 affordable houses for Low Income people for the implementation of PMAY.
The every poor people of country have their own house in the year 2022 under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The government will provide affordable houses to all EWS and LIG groups in the Mumbai under PMAY.
