Deputy Commissioner Dr. Aditya Dahiya said that Apki Beti Hamari Beti Scheme is an ambitious plan of the state government. In which the government has expanded this scheme in the Golden Jubilee Year and took the welfare decision of giving benefits to the family even on the birth of the third daughter on the lines of the second daughter.
Parents whose third daughter was born on or after 22 January 2015 All of them can take advantage of this plan. For this, they have to apply to the Officer of Women and Child Development Department. He told that the scheduled caste and BPL family got the benefit of the scheme only on the birth of the first daughter.
Now the state government has decided to give benefit to the scheme to the daughters of every class under the scheme. There is a provision for people of general category to get the benefit of the scheme on the second daughter’s birth. He said that after receiving the approval from the Directorate, the amount of fund is deposited in the LIC account of the concerned family’s application under the scheme.
After the completion of the girl’s 18 years of age, she gets her with interest. POICDS Rajini Pasricha said that this scheme is being implemented smoothly in the district. The main purpose of the scheme is to bring uniformity in the proportion, to make girls self dependent by promoting the health and education level. He said that it is mandatory to get the benefit of the scheme for atleast one month of the birth of the girl and for more than one year. According to the information, in the year 2016-17, 1227 beneficiaries have been given the benefit of a sum of Rs.25.77 lakhs 67 thousand.
