Odisha Government has decided to built 2 lac 96 thousand this year under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Government of India is going to allocate 2217 crore for this project and around 1336 crore will be allocated by Odisha government.
Implementation of rural housing project in Odisha has found to be satisfactory in previous years. The annual target of government was 1,35,403 units of homes and the state constructed about 2,71,111 units of homes in this project. The total annual target was 20,79,146 units, as many as 17,13,502 units were constructed.
The houses which are incomplete has remained a cause of concern for the state and central government. The state Chief Secretaries has given the natter to the central government to expendiate the pending project. The state government also provide financial autonomy in the financial management of project.
The funds were being transferred for the scheme in year 2014-15 through consolidated funds of state, giving a greater role for the state to managing funds. In the report of department of rural development the state was considered as a unit to all financial purpose of this scheme.
The union government has decided to built about 32 lac 60,997 units of houses in Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana/ Indira Awas Yojana in current financial year 2016-17, in the report of union rural development ministry.
