Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana

Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi will launch Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana from Mahoba on 24 October. This scheme will focus on the irrigation to fields to help the farmers. The Prime Minister invites public for the meeting of the PMKSY and besides this BJP leaders are already at work to gather the farmers. Keshav Prasad Maurya state president confirmed that prime minister will launch Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana from Mahoba. This scheme will improve the farm productivity and ensure better utilization of resources in the country.

Objectives of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana

  • To promote the sustainable water conservation and develop recharge of aquifers.
  • The Rain fed areas are developed through ensure integration.
  • Promote micro-irrigation in the form of sprinklers, pivots, drips and rain guns in the farm.
  • Adoption of precision-irrigation and other water saving technologies.
  • Develop the physical access of water on the farm and cultivable area under assured irrigation.

The main objective of this scheme is to provide the irrigation facilities to the farmers which will results in better crop. It also achieve convergence of investment in irrigation at the field level, expand cultivable area under assured irrigation, enhance the adoption of precision-irrigation and other water saving technologies, enhance recharge of aquifers and introduce sustainable water conservation practices by exploring the feasibility of reusing treated municipal based water for peri-urban agriculture and attract greater private investment in precision irrigation system. In Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana all activities program will be supervised and monitored at the national level by Inter-Ministerial National steering Committee under the chairmanship of prime minister with Union Ministers of all concerned Ministries.

The center will spend Rs 5,300 crores for the scheme current fiscal year. As the new irrigation facilities are very important, the water resources optimization and sustainable water preservation also equally important. When the agriculture production will increase then the growth of industries is set to increase also which depend on agriculture for raw material. Government hopes to provide the artificial irrigation facilities to 6 lac hectares of arable land and also provide drip irrigation to 5 lac hectares of arable land.
