Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana Launched in Leh by J&K Govt

Chaudhary Zulfkar Ali (FCS&CA), Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs launched Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana on 19 October 2016 at Leh. The Zulfkar Ali Provide free LPG connections for the BPL families.

Those women who belonging to BPL families in the state and they have no LPG connection, now they get LPG connections through PMUY scheme.

The objective of this scheme is to save the women health from poisonous cooking methods such as Chulaa, kerosene and fuel by providing free LPG connections for those women who are living under  Below Poverty Line.

Zulfkar Ali said that the PMUY scheme will be benefited around 8 lac women till 2018 in first phase and 1 lac free LPG connections will be provided to the LPG Cardholders women in the current month. The government has already given 60,000 LPG connections for BPL women in the state and remaining 40,000 LPG connections will be given till 30th of October 2016.

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana scheme fulfill the desires of the BPL women who are using the poisonous and polluted fuel methods for the purpose of cooking. This scheme was started for the welfare of women to provide smoke and polluted free cooking.

The Minister also informed the public about the new proposals which are given by the government for the sate opening of medical emergency centers, HPCL Depot and storage shed by Indian Oil and and about the two blocks of toilet in Leh.
